Dharamsala, the home of the Dalai Lama’s palace, is a unique and beautiful place. This is where Lama Tashi Norbu created his first artwork for the “Colors of Wisdom”, the Full Moon series. The piece, which was created on the Full Moon of January 17th. and is named: ‘Return to Serenity’ is a religious depiction of the founder of their spiritual tradition, Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha.

Lama Tashi Norbu has a personal connection to the Return to Serenity monastery in Dharamsala. It is believed to be the place where the future Buddha Maitreya will return to. Lama Tashi apprenticed to the great artist Lobsang Palden in this monastery and it is where he started his artistic career.

When Lama Tashi created “Return to Serenity” in January, he was grieving the loss of his mother, who passed away that month. He felt compelled to create this piece in Daramshala because it is a sacred place to him. Tashi used oils to create the final product and the painting and setting took a few days to prepare. He often finds inspiration in the natural beauty of the Himalayan Mountains while he is working.

Lama Tashi Norbu is a world-renowned artist whose work is heavily influenced by his Buddhist beliefs. He has exhibited his work in prestigious galleries around the world and has received several awards and accolades for his contributions to the art community.

“Return to Serenity” is the first of twelve pieces that Lama Tashi Norbu created for the series, each corresponding to a full moon of the year. These pieces were burned with the new moon, but were first digitalized to create an NFT (non-fungible token). Tashi is the first Tibetan Lama to enter the blockchain space in order to safeguard the Tibetan art culture and the rich Tibetan history. The use of blockchain technology is a sign of impermanence, and this NFT art is the first of its kind in the NFT space and Tibetan art culture. Every NFTibet holder will be a valued member of our ecosystem, and the utility of the NFT will be revealed in Q4 2022.
